show me the moneyyyy

caught $ing Dollar last night at the esplanade theatre. this play has been sitting around on my agenda for the longest time.

what a hype that's been created around this musical comedy with a dose of cabaret. good singing, checked. knee-slapping hilariety, checked. michael jackson stint, checked. i was actually wondering if they would pull a michael jackson on us following the news trend. unbelievably, lots of pun were used. that, to me, was a bit of a childish fun. well, they did what they had to do and it was a truly enjoyable 2.5 hours performance.

it appears that nobody could keep their eyes off kumar. well, i had mine on pam oei and emma yong the whole time. and i found myself swooning over najip ali's manly voice. loved it!

a spectacular thursday night. i had a ton of fun.

internal drought

sometimes when the day-to-day routine becomes too much to bear, that i thought i'd burst into human combustion.

just as that familiar perfume scent i sniffed in the air in the places i've tread. thoughts long buried struggling to reign free. i realized sometimes you still cloud up my mind.

i've been easing into a very good 8-9 hours sleeping routine. but the dreams at night seemed to hint at tensions i didn't know exist.

i've always been very active and no one would suspect my state of mind. clearly, i'm thoroughly spent. months of hiding wore me down.

it's frightening how physically and spiritually worn out you can be. for an ever optimist, i'm experiencing an internal drought.

anyway, none of those depressing stuff anymore.

the weekend seems to come by faster than usual lately. we're planning an upcoming trip soon. shopping, eating and spending time with each other sounds just about perfect :)

i really miss travelling.

sundays are special

badminton was trying. i've been resting and convalescing heaps. however, with my dwindling energy and what's left of my good knee seems to carry an extra 10 pounds of weight whenever i buzz across the court.

truth is, i shouldn't even be doing sports till i'm well. post-sports' aches, however minor, does not sit well with lethargy.

instead of clubbing/drinking on saturday night, i did myself a favour by staying in. let's just say i didn't regret my decision. i'd wake in time for badminton on sunday.

i should really monitor how sundays should be spent. it will invariably affect saturdays because that includes not staying out late.

anyway, the sunday that passed was brilliant. though my feet blistered and the hand hurt from the 2 hours of game, it was one of the most leisurely sunday afternoons i've had in a long while.

we lunched, had comfort food, watched silly drama unfold on telly and sang karaoke.

when i snuggled under the sheets last night, the smile could not be wiped off from my face though i was so exhausted.

i don't know about others. but i appreciate simple sundays like this.

a walk to remember

released 7 years ago, i finally bought it to watch. what a charming film it is, this being my first time watching it.

i chose to stay at home and recuperate tonight instead of meeting the anderson gang for a rendezvous at substation (which i'm sure they must be having a ball right now).

i've been smiling to myself the whole night. it's been rare that i have the entire night to myself. uplifting indeed.

this movie's for every old soul out there.

Love is like the wind. You cannot see it but you can always feel it.

apt. love it.

teleconversation with the moon

my phone rang. cia called.

me: i was just thinking about you
cia: i'm thinking of winebar tonight
me: i don't want

*after 1 minute of persuasion*

cia: well, or we can do something else?
me: what happen to saving?
cia: 1-for-1 is saving!

what kind of warped theory is that?

hahahahahahahahaha. give me a reason to reject this girl.

mm actually i did.

me: if you know how tired i am, you won't even want to ask me out
cia: that's why i'm asking you out. because i don't know
me: hahaha okay i'm tired. i'm telling you now
cia: you still have four hours to think. the door's always open
me: i'm going to lock the door. and throw away the keys

why is it that i'm a bit swayed now?

edited: two girls with no sense of saving, one with a desire to drink, and warped theories about saving, the other who is about to get a french manicure because she isn't dressed to party after work are going to hm mm, you-guessed-it.

someone tell me why am i doing this again?

sleep deprived

not long after i got home yesterday, i put on a pair of eye mask and went to sleep, nicely showered. i slept for very long. 10.5 hours. on a work-week night.

friday is here but i already felt like sleeping the weekend away.

tell tale signs of over-exhaustion i think.

at this rate, how will 8 hours' sleep be enough.

golden like the blonde, spiky like a porcupine

you make me dance like a fool
forget how to breathe
shine like gold buzz like a bee
just the thought of you can drive me wild

oh you made me smile.

gasping for air

i've had difficulty breathing for about a week now. it was normal at first. i've often had that happen. but this is something different.

chris thinks i'm crazy. he suggested psychological issues. deep huh, that guy? yongan said hormones. right, ttotm just started. cia was worried it might be h1n1 and showed me a link with all the possible symptoms.

they want me to see a doctor.

i think i'm fine but i know something isn't. i've been very lethargic lately. feels like crap everyday. what's wrong with me?! the one and only thing i look forward to everyday is more snooze. i hardly felt like going out.

if i've got this right, i think it's a break i need.

a damn long one at that.

mm okay maybe it's just ttotm. ack. who can tell these days.

of crazy-ass migraine and cramps

i had to cut short a good night with the ex-andersonians and a birthday celebration with the cousins. (i got home around midnight after sant sent me home.)

at 2 am, i'm holed up at home resting whilst watching twilight-meets-gossip-girl dvd series, True Blood, with the migraine still banging up inside my head.

freaking dying.

and goddamn menses cramp.

=(

mom knows best

woke up in a light mood today.

mom hung a new work top in my room this morning. it's neatly pressed, white, accentuates my tan and fits snugly. she got it from zara. later, she was fussing over making breakfast for me. :)

my body condition have never been so strong than now. i've been doing lots of weights and resistance training. haven't gone for yoga in 2 weeks. i've also stopped wearing heels to relieve pressure on my knees.

anyway, i'm walking with a light spring in my steps. i love feeling cheery. and of course, being spoilt by my mom. despite all that has happened, deep down inside, i know i am very blessed.

the moon turned 25

i have not been getting much sun lately as a result of the busted knee and frittered away most of the weekends doing night activities. it isn't such a meaningless thing except that it's quite physically draining, leaving me to vegetate on the weekdays.

time hasn't been allocated to training for the run next month. i'm far from ready with my crappy knee. regardless, i'll have to suck it in and just go for it.

as the title suggests, cia just turned a quarter of the century old. we commemorated the actual occasion with a cosy dinner at tampopo. such ramen junkies we've became overnight!

i feel so stuffed gawd.

*burp*

oopsy!

going through the motion

i feel suffocated and pukish this morning.

the drought season is here. i can't seem to stop feeling tired.

my knee has been crap. i'm getting immobile.

there are a few things to look forward to this week but i hope i'm up for it.

these days, tiredness have become my best friend.

down time (literally)

i'm down with exhaustion, quite expectedly so. my body temperature's running pretty high. i could almost feel the warmth spreading to the pits of the stomach. i don't feel too good. hpy vinz even quipped to the tune of how i'm not the female version of bumblebee, which lit up a smile on my face. (prior to which he told me to rest.)

well, i'm doing that right now.

the weekend was pretty tiring but lovely.

our leisure

5AM: oya at his best on a sunday morning

i've finished the last pages of The Last Concubine. never a history kid, japanese history overwhelmed me in this book. the book's a great leisurely read for anyone clueless to the background of old japan. i can't wait to pass this book around. anyway, i ventured with great hope into the bookstore after i took a half day break from work, wishing to pick up a good read. my ears were jarring from the sounds of music from my player and i lost the attention i paid to a book i held in my hand.

in other important news.

cia's birthday coming up in 7 minutes (according to GMT+8:00)!
this dear's got quite an unforgettable birthdate to match - 07-07 :)

for all it's worth, pleasegoawaybabycia (referring to her mid-section)!

erratic weather

we tottered on into the silent morning of yesterday. the weather was too humid. the cotton lining of my white boho skirt clung stickily to my outer thigh. it was a long breeze-less walk. warm as it may sound, wearied as i could be, it was comfortable. i was in good company. the red and dark star-less morning sky blanketed above, threatening rain.

sometimes we shared stories we heard of the towering buildings - takashimaya, paragon, even hyatt - surrounding the three of us. (i was with cia and josh.) most times, we trudged in perfect silence, acutely aware of the peace the morning brought. well, for me, at least.

eventually, we reached our destination. an hour or so dawdled by before the weather became unbearable.

this afternoon, it rained relentlessly.

if only tonight was friday again. the weekend was such a blur.

rolled off the wrong side of the bed

no matter how much i sleep, it just ain't enough. i do feel terribly sleepy and weak this morning. definitely not a good start to the end of the week.

my whole body aches. my back's sore. i haven't worked out in a week. however much i egg my body on, i seem to be hitting the ground.

i won't deny i do need a good backrub.

but time is not very kind to me today.

*groan*

hang in there, michelle!
