Just a thought
what i have been up to recently:
i honestly couldnt be arsed about loading off on carbs in the past. but recently i realized it's a "now or never"/"do or die" diet plan. in order to rid sluggishness and shed kilos, i put up a strong defence against most kinds of food that include yeast such as bread, biscuits, noodles and beer. something that i cannot bear giving up is wine. some fruit skins contain yeast too such as grapes.
however i made an exception today!
do you know what is one of the famous food in jurong vicinity?
this is it - fried hokkien mee. and i absolutely cannot miss this dish because it's whipped up by cat's mom who have been selling it at $2.50 for over ten years ($3 at present due to inflation).
it's one of the best fried hokkien mee i've eaten and im not saying it because she's my good friend. so you know what to do when you're in jurong area and wants a good and cheap meal ;) it's at jurong hawker centre. they serve a mean oyster omelette as well so do go try!
look at the amount of pork lard she took. not that i touched any of it though. gid did a taste test and loved it.
met up with the grandest bestie from yesteryear for a nice din at Cova (paragon) and to my surprise, it was a quaint concept newly opened by WingTai Asia about 3 months back. i had wanted to treat her to Shimbashi Soba, also at paragon, at my boss' high recommendation and infectious rave but the queue was crazy and we had to wait an hour - my bestie isn't big on waiting - so she sourced for other alternative and landed up at Cova. it's suitably classy albeit queerly set smack in the middle of paragon.
we proceeded to Top of the M for our proper chill out sesh but to our horror it had been usurped by Chatterbox - the super expensive famous chicken rice. thankfully ying's faith paid off and we got ourselves a table somehow.
i like the precariousness in this pic; a little more unintentional tilt and the content would have definitely splashed and ruined my threads!

ericia, please take a guess at this drink?

milky, pepperminty..? you've got it - grasshopper!

ying and i doin' a funny - im still trying to get used to my highly bright flash, but so are everyone else who had the misfortune of getting snapped :)

our lil corner.

this happened at least a week back when i met up with ping who's my other grandest bestie from yesteryear to catch up on the latest. we dined at ichiban boshi and caught money no enough II after. i gotta disagree with ericia that it isnt nice because i've never cried and laughed so hard simultaneously before and this movie is truly meaningful. not that everyone will like it given the context but it's a movie made for true blue singaporeans.
come night time, my sis fed me with this yam paste with fresh coconut (not in picture) from a food fair at suntec city. i didnt even wanna ingest this cos i was so full but she bought 3 tubs of this dessert and was depending on ME to help finish it. what is a good sister to do? its good though, just a tad too sweet for my tastebud.
well this picture came a lil wrong in sequence but this is what i had at Cova - cod fish ($30). the picture doesnt do it justice but its yummy as hell.
ying's pasta dish ($28) that's equally nice - she fed me the meat ball as she knew i wouldnt take the pasta.
lucky girl went on an incentive-achieved company paid trip to paris and showed me photos of her trip which were really inspiring and breath-taking. it motivates me to get there someday.
scrambled to meet gid and cat after i knocked off yesterday to attend viv's event and managed to catch fred's magic show in time.

fred pulling out massively long stringy looking things from his mouth.
finally, a clip of fred demonstrating his magic on stage.
enjoy!

i have my craving and i had it curbed all in one night
i've been having the biggest craving for peranakan food for weeks and red wine since last night.
and i just have had both in one sweet night thanks to my boss. no pictures though. but acquired some ideas to bring my babes and buddies out for a real chilled night out.
very very satisfied and calmed right now.
riiight. bed time!

the mind is a wondrous thing to possess
for days, i've been putting mind over matter in drive. i concede that even the strongest have their weaknesses - like an archilles' heel.
im getting tired and could hardly keep my eyes open anymore. its been some rough few days.
im awaiting pictures from essy who waited out to have dinner with me yesterday. =) we had a sashimi dinner at sushi tei that caused me an upset tummy. horrible choice. i liked the seafood sabu sabu though.
mom bought mooncakes. the seasons came and went. time just passes by so quickly. i suddenly felt older but braver. i doubt im gonna settle down for anyone so bring out the lolita in me to party!

trite but true
something rather funny yet unbelievable happened to viv and i today.
she transferred money to me. but not to my current account.
she had unknowing been transferring money to my ex-bf's account. we both gasped when we found out the folly mistake. but no follow up action will be taken. things are best left the way they are now. im happy as he is. thing was, the moment she read out the numbers to me, i found it extremely odd but confirmed my suspicion with the bank.
i will bear the loss. its a pinch but its also a small price to pay. perhaps its a sign that i owe him something. something like karma, just not so serious. plus viv has already changed the account setting soon after.
all's good for now.
maybe the money will be transferred back into my account by magic.
right! fat chance!

and so... this is how it feels like to graduate
i didn't know much about love but it came too soon
as we look back now will our jokes still be as funny?
and now we're all men and women of the world. - Vit C (Graduation)
how does graduation felt like? it feels different for everyone i know. for me, it's like saying sayonara to the things we learned at school. yet not like an unkind farewell but a longing parting.
