A lazy Saturday afternoon @ Aspire

I've been taking to the pool often at crazy times of the day, like some evenings which explains why I'm not getting any tanner at all.

Such is life to laze away the afternoon with your best friend. Me likey.

how i spent my weekend

it was a dearly loved up week. kujen is finally back from perth. the hype we engaged in over his return was finally brought down to a low as we cozied up for an after dinner beer session. later on, we pulled an overnight singing party (which we favoured over winebar) and cia joined our gang of lovely andersonians.

sunday was spent resting away to recharge and at the stroke of 9pm, the guys - chris, bx and yongan - gathered at my apartment for leisure gambling/mj.

monday blues not happening. but i'm feeling the heat from the weekend.

in fact, the weekend started early on friday. in which we quarubared with cat the super cute, cia, crystal and a bunch of crys' quirky/wacky friends.

in a nutshell, i might have been overdoing things and generally getting burnt out. when i heard my voice this morning, i was barely audible. at best, it was a squeak.

also, i'm orally ulcerated, physically drained and experiencing a looming migraine that's recurring.

but guess what?

it was meaningfully spent. and i'd still do it all over again :)

i had a long weekend all to myself, and well, work as company..

until cat, ericia and terence decided to drive by and pick me up to inject something-something into my non-existent social life for the weekend...

my weekend was simple. i read the papers, did my work stuff, detoxed and had plenty of good rest. i cancelled out on friends for appointments due to work and missed out a bit on the social front.

but all was good. real good in fact. pardon me if i hadnt been answering calls. i think i received quite a few missed calls and i hadnt been getting around to replying them. im sorry!

so it was late last night when cat phoned... she asked if i wanted supper but my stomach was full of liquid but i agreed to one anyway - i'll just watch them eat.

but we proceeded to balcony instead. well never mind the service, i've nothing against balcony except that i always get weird western guys getting a bit too friendly there. i think its like the protocol there. all the foreigners hang out at balcony into the wee hours.

a girl decided to play with fire after a few drinks. but she only managed to "fire once" despite many tries. we chortled as we caught the girl who cant lit a fire with the lighter. and i caught the only picture of her 'lighting up'.

her proudest moment caught on camera.

i was saying i went on a detox and couldnt eat anything else so i ordered chamomile tea. for 10 bucks and more, they served up dilmah. i hated it already.

looking very out of place in that tray was my much-hated dilmah tea.

terence the brown is official, even his namecard says so. im not kidding - it read Terence "The Brown" Oh. i think its a novel way of introducing himself to his clients! Oh, and Oh being his last name of course ;).

loving the shot with the brown dude. im lightening up a fair bit here so it offers more contrast ;) haha!

long weekend coming to a closure. i hope you guys had a wild time. and of course, i'll be back with more "overdue" pictures once i've time to post another entry.

taa!

Ps: GID! if you're reading this, please dont forget about our Lee Hom concert!

like old times

i prolly wouldnt be able to scrunch up my hair or support any object heavier than 0.5kg with my leftie for a few days. i hate to share this but i had a nasty burn while cooking at bx's crib together with rowena and don. a searing pain that had me in tears (but i skillfully dodged the guys from seeing it). excruciating and unnecessary. it will take a few days to heal. oh well. but i thought the cooking was a bunch of joy albeit it wore us down and out completely.

laid the goods on the belt for payment. i had a go at the front of the trolley wheelie with bx pushing it along down the aisle. it was good kiddo fun.

L-R: row, bx in the top i got for him from krabi, don

trudging back to his crib.

saucy potato and luncheon.

black peppered chicken thigh (my love) and breast.

some chinese veg call dou miao. stirred fried with garlic.

mushroom pot.

and before you know it, we forgot about cooking the staple: rice. and bx zipped over to his neighbourhood to get us some. a box like this for $2.

all of them were great help around the kitchen and methinks this kind of activities should be done more often!

anyways, i hauled home a new $300 750GB My Book by Western Digital 2 weeks ago and transferred a zillion other files but its been lagging my computer severely and getting seriously frustrating. also, the computer wont "wake up" when powered on while the external HDD is connected. very agonizing in fact, to be waiting for applications to load. everything loads like ten times slower. im getting very testy just harping on it.

nice that it comes with firewire too! the better to connect with firewire speed.

the signature black hardcover design.

its really heavy too. like 2kg or so.

im crashing soon.
gotta wake early.

but before that, i really would like to thank my lucky stars (and ericia) for telling me to wait out before i do something i might regret again.

very very glad indeed.
