UPDATED with entry & new photos

i happen to love sundays for no apparent reason. thats even if the following mondays either spell: 1. school in the past or 2. work at the mo. for me, sunday = LOVE.

amazingly, i dont sleep in till afternoon anymore. i wake up in the morning very naturally; perhaps my biological clock has tuned back to normal now that ive been working for some coming 3 months now =)

well, as promised some time back. here's a quick recap of the last eventful month:

last month saw me at my happiest, as the pictures will prove.

let's begin to trace back the glorious April.

First off, here is Sheena baby who brought and treated me to Hanabi, a slightly more expensive Japanese buffet/alacarte restaurant located at Odeon Towers.

didnt took any pictures of the food cos we were busy engaging in a hearty conversation and of course, THE FOOD. they were really good and better than Ikoi (a similar Japanese Buffet style restaurant) IMO.

shee handed me a present the moment i met her but i was overjoyed to see her and didnt bother to find out what it was (i thought it was a kiehl's paperbag cos she kinda knows i adore my face).

at the end of the delicious lip smacking meal, i was due to open up the present. how could it be Kiehl's?? it was Coach all along.

can you guess what it is? a clue: something very apt for my work so i dont need to fumble around for ___ anymore.

more love shown.

after a satisfying meal, we decided to take pictures outside the restaurant to capture the good memories. (read: because if it's bad, we wouldn't have bothered to)

a pretended pose.

our last picture taken that day.

then it was off to meet katt darling for high tea. it's been my third or fourth time to Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie ever since Ericia's enthusiastic recommendation last year.

there're two outlets; 1 at Robertson Walk and the other at the basement of Paragon. ive been to both outlets and both are fine. they serve food as well but i always pop in for a slice of cake and a pot of tea.

photos courtesy of katt's photography and camera =)

i went to the ladies and came back to see this lil surprise that katt spring.
subject: le royale

the richness of the chocolate mousse filled me up with glee and supported by a crispy layer of hazelnut feullitine at the base with a hint of rum.

subject: proliterole violette

basically, it is soft almond tart perfumed with essences that come from violet flower, violet profiterole and violet chantilly. blackcurrent jelly and berries are decorated atop.

subject: pistache macaron; filled with smooth ganache (french for heavy cream) and comes in assorted flavors.

mimicking a burger-bite.

i was on the phone with gid i think. he had called to confirm on the dinner time (after the tea session with katt) and gotten it wrong at an hour earlier, so lucky thing he called.

ready pose for my darling katt.

m.a.c lip glass in Viva Glam from katt.
ive been using it for work
suits me pretty well ;)

katt and i towards the end of our date

as always, our final parting shot before i run off for the dinner with the SIM fam.

photos of the dinner are still with crystal and i think ethan's gotten it too. will update another time on those overdue photos.

received a lovely surprise from the girls i.e. Ericia, Cat and Bernita during our girls outing.

a handy tote carrier which ive used once for work so far.

its woody brown in colour and matches very well with my clothes. the ladies reckon i'd need something like it one day =)

when we were at Ikea, we ran into Patrick Chin, our former friendly, good looking and young lecturer from poly. while it was good to see him, i doubted he remembered me and so didnt approach him when he hello-ed cat but ericia told us he was looking over at me and hey, maybe he had a bit of impression from last time? i remembered he helped me out a lot in my stats and in a serious school related matter once.

anyways, after sending bernita home, us three popped over to yishun's dam to hang loose and spend a bit more time on catching up.

some decent shots taken by ericia.

here's a sweet birthday present by aaron (intern) on his last day of work. the double meaning behind sweet lies in that it contained a box of feraro rocher chocolate. for the period of time he knew me, he had known me to be a "sugar baby". digression aside, he was performing a handover duty that day since it'd be his final official day at SKY when at last he uttered in mandarin: don't blink, as he drew open the drawer revealing the nicely wrapped present..

myself with aaron.
an earnest young chap.

presents from thoughtful mommy dearest.
black, metallic and white to suit every occasion =)

in celebratory mood for aaron's last day at SKY.

headed out for buffet dinner and a night of phuture as a farewell party for aaron.

this is the Ikoi restaurant i mentioned above.

while waiting out for our turn to be seated, i took a few paranormal shots.

L-R: L.J aka my manager who is camera-shy for some reason beyond me, Aaron, Myself.

the China chef working his magic.

they were really good until i tried Hanabi but both offers very different ambience so to speak.
Ikoi is rather traditional with low tables and counter seats like what we got whereas Hanabi has chest level tables when seated and attentive wait staff. Ikoi lacked the latter.

our complimentary sabu sabu served.

i had always assumed the foil they used are the same as the domestic ones but it proved different when i felt it with my bare fingers. i didnt know they were actually much harder than i thought.

L.J demonstrating to aaron what he could write in his attachment report.
see what i mean about earnest? hehe.

we are almost done.

the plan to walk to Zouk was misled by yours truly and we had to take a cab eventually.

the many faces of aaron:

myself on the dancefloor.

with L.J, who's presently looking much chiseled thanks to his Raw and Living Food + low-carb/high-protein diet.

the sole activity that singaporeans never tire of doing.. queuing for freebies!

the queue was horrendous, stretching to the outdoor area of vivo.

what could be so worth queuing for if not for Ben & Jerry's Free Cone day, aye?

with my fellow taurean colleague, winnie.

fortunately, i had winnie for companionship.
else, the only other thing to do while waiting was watching the young Caucasian girl galloping her mobile toy horse.

the girl paying up for her 10 mins of fun.

charges as per size and duration.

look at the snake of a queue where we're directly parallel to, and obviously far behind from.

moving along the queue.

snapped a picture before moving off along the barricade.
the sun was scorching.

nearing the end of the queue where a dancing cow was in sight.

did our bit for charity while we enjoyed our ice cream.

winnie had chocolate fudge brownie that i recommended whereas i had to make do with strawberry due to having ulcers (again).

after a tweezing job by jess, at browhaus.

i should have rejected her offer and im sorry i didnt.
but well, its pointless to go into the topic anyway now that the damage's done.

jess posing for me.

sis and i at her shop.

had our din-sup at New York, New York (heard they also serve an all-day breakfast menu) where we ordered cream of mushroom with foam and chocolate powder atop. the soup was in the exact manner i like having my mushroom soup - blended mushroom bits!

scooping the foam.

sis' palate.

prawn fritters, half a chicken and potato wedges.

my pasta with lots of olive oil, garlic, veg and bacon bits.

bought this on impulse when i was shopping after doing the brow job.

i definitely see results after nearly a month into taking it but will have to stop (it's very expensive anyway and cost $90 for a month's supply, or more if you take it twice a day) since im starting my course of dianette soon.

caught up with aimee and leon one night after work.

here's a series of timer mode shots:

so it seems they harboured an ulterior motive for asking me out. but it was a sweet motive nonetheless! aimee wanted to pass me a dress she thought i'd like when she was shopping in taiwan. worn it once since and received compliments from my colleague and friends =) i was really quite touched and overwhelmed by the heartwarming gesture.

after the dinner, they were tasked to meet up with his mom and i followed suit as it was still early to meet ericia for zouk later on. i was happy to see their mom, whom ive gotten along quite well with over the years, especially after having last seen them slightly before christmas '07. their mom mentioned something that moved me very much but also which would not happen anytime soon, if at all.

leon then drove me to meet ericia for a pre-arranged session of zouk with damian and the girls.

ericia, myself and zoee at wine bar where we played truth or dare which saw some supposed embarrassment caused to ericia, zoee and damian but whom were game enough to see them survive through the act.

we found out each of my girls has their unique best photo angles and thus, im always tasked to be in the middle! ericia will always stand/sit/lie/etc on my right due to her "good" ear on her left (thats another story for another time) whereas zoee will be on my left due to her photogenic right side. we complement each other in a weird way, you say?

top shot are always the most flattering ;)

group shots with zoee's gf, sally.

myself with damian, on the dancefloor.

the night ended on a good note with damian seeing us girls home. met some people from uni there as well and as usual, alvin sung, kenny choong and gang were there too.

moving on to another collection of pictures is the long awaited singing sesh with the anderson fam.

here's katt and peiqi after the latter's final exam with cherie in the background.

JX and cherie (who recently got into SIA) are bound for the altar, we so reckon.

a loony row and BX.

after lasting 5 insufficient hours of singing, we headed to ichiban boshi with YCC leading the way by car.

what i had: black peppered salmon steak set.

who/what's infront: BX and row

who/what's to my right: don

who/what's diagonally across: katt

who/what's to my left: peiqi and YCC

love this candid shot taken by katt =)

photos wasnt in chronological succession..

a group photo at the singing hole.

myself (whom row thought i resembled joanne in this shot) and row.

and talking about joanne, i miss the girl. havent seen her around since above & beyond's gig during feb this year.

bring back the days of beach and volleyball!

enough of digression.

lets quickly move through the photos. ive been here for almost the entire day!

here is don, in his usual placid manner.

and him again when he launches into one of his non-placid moments.

credit goes to row who did this. on closer examination, don and BX appears to sprout the same grim expression. show some love, hey!

proceeded to xin wang at cine for dessert afterwards.

here's a succession of photos of myself that row took because she couldnt get any decent shots without the wait staff's still and flurry in-motion images in the BG:

myself with YCC.

and ive finally reached the end of this entry! pictures may speak a thousand words but isnt it more fun to read with captions and such? i am hoping you would =)

as a parting post, i had loaded this up cos it was supposed to be exam period for some of my SIM mates weeks ago and it reminded me of my study days, where terence would nap in between exam revision.

i miss my uni days already, not that i want to relive it, but it was good fun while it lasted.

terence taking a break.

and him taking a break again on a separate day.

myself rushing off to meet terence for marcom revision (i remembered using the pink file for marcom).

dressed for a swim at gid's country club to clear the jumbled marketing mess in our heads before settling down for group revision afterwards in one of those study rooms available.

thats all folks. its a pretty lengthy read and i hope you have enjoyed it.

its 8.23PM. time sure pass us by quickly.
