poptart

i'm feeling crazily sleepy. this chilly weather helps.

i'm already typing with my eyes half closed.

i went back to brown. everyone seems to like this more than the blonde. myself included.

i'm spending more time widening my social circle. not on purpose. yet i have friends who are ready to stop at his current social circle. cos of laziness. i say amen to that.

saturday was quite the stupendous night. i haven't had such mindless fun in a long while. i'm glad to be exposed to genuinely great people.

i have cultivated the interest for many amazing things. i only need money and time to do it.

i don't mean to ramble but this has been a great week and i hope to pen it down before everything slips away...

anyway, Poptart was a blast. and michelle was a total sweetheart to wait out the bladder urges with me.

so g'night world. it's time for rest!

an afternoon nap and heaps of shoes

short of being sick, i've been very tired and restless lately.

i wasn't online much at all. instead, i took a nap. i still feel like crap so i went about my business when i awoke - dinner, poring through magazine, surfing TV channels (The Devil Wears Prada), and suddenly decided that i've way too many shoes so i took the liberty of spring cleaning for the ladies of the family.

i love throwing stuff away, it's cleansing and therapeutic. very.

my heels collection just expanded so i had to make space for them. all in all, i binned approximately 20 heels, 10 flats, 5 or more sneakers and many many many shoe boxes.

not bad for a shoe rack cleansing.

psyched up!

after completing The Host - written by Twilight author -, i knew it'd be a good lucrative business for the movie industry and was secretly hanging on to the hope that someone would see the quirky story as a potential new flick.

this book got me hooked straight up. Twilight was good but this is seriously way better for me.

and i was right, the book is on its way to the big screen.

so so so exciting.

unusual saturday

i'm thoroughly spent.

boy am i glad i dragged myself out of bed this morning. everything started right.

given, i actually rolled out of bed late but i managed to time everything down to perfection.

made a few planned trips to the far east of the island. ponggol clinic, check. spend time with dear people, check. sofaman with amanda, check.

gotta say i did things i usually wouldn't do. been to places i typically wouldn't frequent. if i have to explore my vocabulary for a single word to describe my day, it would have to be unbeatable.

i also bumped into Joel, my favourite special kid from the good old days of special education. i couldn't stop marvelling at his little antics that i used to adore. he didn't see me though i wished he could have. truth was, i was rushing to be on time as the clinic's closing. back at the school, it was love at first sight with this kid and i've often wondered how he's been.

he's the cutest thing i've ever seen, and i've seen a lot. for professional reasons, i can't post his pictures. but hopefully one day, i can!

also, i saw a former primary school friend at the clinic! i promptly shared with rox and surprisingly had her tell me about her chance encounter with her previous secondary school mate as well as her uncle's encounter with a really old school friend. what an amazing place for chance encounters, really! i am so impressed.

sick

i feel like barfing. i'm nursing a migraine. my stomach is in pain.

i took the day off to rest in and tomorrow doesn't seem like a good work day despite marking end of the work week.

i have so many backlogs to clear.

a nice long rest is overdue.

an elapsed mantra

Until you wait for the right time, things will be a standstill.

There is no right time.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Strike or get strike.

Just do it.

Once in hesitation, time has slipped on by.

You lose the momentum.

Be spontaneous.

Get inspired.

You will be rewarded.

dehydrated and very hungry

fact was, i got home not very long ago from a movie and supper.

we caught The Sister's Keeper and left with glassy eyes. it was a heartbreaking movie filmed from great vantage points. i was sure i would get the poignant novel someday in the near future.

supper was actually dinner for me. i had veggie broth at spize. as usual, service was non-existent and that overrated place overcharged again but fortunately we double checked. as a prata place, the broth wasn't great but when ter asked if i'd have it again, i told him i would under the circumstances that i'm feeling sick (again).

i'm still feeling rather stoned from the drunkened weekend and am vegetating with a bag of chips.

in other news, i've been meaning to post these up but timing was a bitch.

prawning, oh prawning. good times, great catches. with sweet ole katt.

halloween was pretty insane. i'm awaiting pictures from eug. for the millionth time, i'm still afraid of the pictures that are coming up. i've a feeling i wouldn't remember most of it.

"i know you were drunk. you were talking to this bunch of people from the next table. i can't bear to watch." - quoted from eug.

too arsed to blog

why would i update this space when there are so much going on beyond the computer screen.

i've so much to say and it's annoying the hell out of me that i can't.

but no news means good news! and things are still fine and dandy for the most part.

i'm psyched about halloween. no, really.

it'll mark the first full on costume i've ever pulled off.

i'm exhausted and there's nothing like good sleep to kickstart the weekend.

g'night y'all! have a happy halloween while you're at it!

in a nutshell

the kick comes in when you gulp but it tastes better when you sip.
since it was such a chilled friday night with ying dear, i sipped away while perched on the bar stool inside winebar.

some hard metallic bit found inside my chicken breast hammie. i took up the case to the store manager as i almost swallowed it. it wasn't a pleasant service recovery. i related it to my PT colleague and he asked "no 1-year supply of cookies?"

my perm wasn't holding up and i headed back to Jasmine for hair revival this afternoon. she's the best i've heard from a couple of separate sources. located at The Sail@Marina bay, gid once thought i meant The Sale and he went, "so cheap." that really cracked me up!

never fails to amaze me

derek had a really bad week so i met up with him on monday for tete-a-tete over a quick dinner and a cosy nightcap. it was all very spontaneous. what surprised me was the stuff he shared with me. he got me when he said he felt really at ease just by talking to me and sharing stuff. i suppose i'm gifted with the multi talent of an aunt agony.

well, these past few weeks had been rather unkind. i do hope it's a short phase. i can't wait to get over this wave of emotions. it's not the best month to be feeling low what with all these good parties popping up all over the calendar. me being me, finds it tough to say no to trance. ever.

i'm currently at an ending process of sorting out my thoughts. unfortunately things doesn't always go the way it should be. getting it out of my system has been rather detoxifying for the soul. i suppressed a lot of negativity because i hardly seek comfort in sharing them. i've been ever so tough on the outside but always softer than jelly on the inside. it's not apt to reveal much except that it'd be interesting to chronicle this episode as a milestone.

interestingly, i was telling derek how my whole life was reshaped after the previous relationship. the changes or metamorphosis as i'd like to call it, was enormous. as compared to the past, i'm definitely more open now but also more judgemental. yes, i judge. i also filter. i'm a huge skeptic. of course, there were many more reasons that crafted my outlook today, least of all the relationship.

in lighter news, it's daffy's birthday today! we knew each other when we were kids. when we were mere 11 year olds i think. it's so swift. 14 years have gone by since the day we first met. well we are heading out to celebrate her birthday this friday. but before i leap into it, here's a recap of what we did on our dearest ying's birthday which fell on 24 September.

we pre-celebrated with her at Thai Accent (VivoCity) for two reasons. 1) it's one of my favourite thai restaurant. 2) dear daffy wanted to satisfy her once a year craving for thai food. sweetest ying was the most accommodating among us even though it was her birthday so to speak. the food was good and we polished every single morsel. we felt like a pregnant whale afterwards.

now, we had plans to treat her to a good meal since she just returned from LA. but i had grander plans than that. the moment i found out about an alternate plan for the F1 weekend, i knew the grandstand tickets had to go to ying! she's a true blue all-motors girl. i knew that decision couldn't be more ingenious when i later saw that priceless joy stretched across her beautiful face!

the present

the passes to good times

p'apple rice which i strongly recommended/pork ribbed fried noodles that daffy wanted

kangkong with sambal/thai fish cakes/creamy tom yum soup

daffy (in black)/ying (blue)/myself

we surprised her with a feret noir treat (that's black forest) from bakerzin
a very light but yummy cake no less! more importantly, ying loved it.

colour coordinated, not.

reflecting on an earlier convo with a girlfriend...

i'm clearly misguided and lacked objective.

pride has been my best friend.

in one swoosh, i fell for it hook, line and sinker.

but worse things have happened to better people.

it was never meant to be this serious.

how remarkably unintended... this bloody passive mess.

lazy phase

i'm currently in my lazy phase of blogging. that, or that i have so much things to blog about i don't know where to really begin.

i have a couple of backlogs i need to clear.

this whole week has been jam packed with back to back activities that my health has taken a backseat. i'm not eating regularly though it's not by choice. i thank cia for constantly reminding me to eat. when work piles to eyebrow level, you don't have the appetite for food. kinda bad for health but i can't help it.

i hardly have time for exercise anymore. though that was compensated by more socialising. no complains there. well, maybe one. i'm suffering from low body esteem post F1 week seeing how i'm covered with brutally hideous blue-blacks courtesy of terence (not that he has any lesser than mine) which i tried to coverup every day with more clothed work threads but there's only so much cloth can cover. i don't even cross my legs in public anymore if i'm wearing skirts that rides above the bruises. its been ages since i've had bruises this intense.

with all these recent spate of events, i'm willing this phase to be over so that things like my health, appetite and exercise can be re-programmed.

above and beyond all that shenanigans, what i need most, is a set of strong yummy shoulders to rest on.

to be honest, i'm very very tired.

a mess of everything i can think of.

make me over.

kiss me goodbye.

i'm done.

there are more ways than one to make me happy.

but it often only involve one single entity.

this isn't exactly the happiest moment of my life.

things can and should be better but there aren't many instant fixes.

for those guessing, that single entity is me.
